Hello Daybreakers,

Congratulations to Jenny T and Sandra B for organising, and Sergio and Jenny for hosting the Long Lunch Auction Dinner for Six last Saturday night. Lydia was a guest, and gave us a rundown on the menu for the night. We viewed photos of the food and Lydia also gave us an account of Sergio’s excellent waiting skills. The night was a great success.

At today’s meeting members filled out two survey’s, one on our Wednesday breakfast, and the other on guest speakers. This was followed by a mini assembly - there was healthy discussions, and hopefully the next time we do this there will be a more than one committee chair in attendance.

It is looking like there will be some small changes to our breakfasts, and a roster for guest speakers will be created.

The trailer was discussed, and it was agreed that Glenn’s plans for a bigger, better version of what we already have will go ahead. All agreed that the purchase of an additional trolley, so that each BBQ has it’s own trolley would be beneficial. It is hoped that the trailer will be ready to go by December.

Planning has begun on the club’s 20 year celebrations for next July and another group discussed initial plans for the next Long Lunch.

There was a discussion group working on membership in relation to the best PR to produce. This group suggested that our members give testimonial, and give a brief outline of what part they take in Rotary, with photos of members and events, and make a small brochure on what Daybreakers do.

It was also suggested that there be much more Rotary information provided at meetings, to share the knowledge to give new members a far greater understanding of what Rotary does. In the past there have been different methods of doing this, but it sounds like we need to find a better way of delivering this information. Hopefully in the coming months this can be addressed and we can address this. Sounds like a challenge for the Membership committee, and I believe it would be helpful for the PR committee to have some involvement in this as well.

Next week  our guest speaker is Catherine from the Bandari Project. Our meeter & greeter is Mehul, hopefully the weather will be better and everyone can make it.

Lets find more ways to “Make a Difference”

Cheers,
Jan
