It really doesn’t seem like 12 months since I wrote my first message for our weekly Daybreak newsletter and now I’m writing my last…. Where does the time go? I have thoroughly enjoyed my year as your President and trust that my contribution has been of benefit to our great Club. Thank you to all Daybreakers for giving me the privilege of leading our Club during the last year. |
In this week’s newsletter I have chosen to include in the Rotary Around the World section details of the new donations and contributions (above US$1 million)announced at the recent RI Convention in our battle to rid the world of Polio for the information of members who may not have already have read about these announcements. Of particular note was the announcement by Bill Gates of the extension of the 2 for 1 contribution by the Gates Foundation for funds raised by Rotary for another 3 years. What a wonderful commitment by the Gates Foundation. After having just returned from the US following the RI Convention in Atlanta I look forward to seeing all members on Wednesday for our Changeover and many Daybreakers also on the weekend for our President’s Camp in Mount Gambier.
