The Rotary Club of Warrnambool Central partnered with the Warrnambool Racing Club to collect and recycle containers during the May Racing Carnival. Members put in a huge effort over the three days. Thanks also to Jason and the good people at TOMRA, who couldn't have been more helpful. Over the three days we collected and recycled 53,880 cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles and kept them out of landfill. All proceeds from the return of these containers will be used to fund the Rotary club's charitable projects in Warrnambool and throughout the world. Well done and thank you to all those members, partners and friends who contributed over the carnival.
TOMRA's records show that our Rotary club has recycled 64,333 containers since November 1st last year.
