This week Lindsay Bullivant announced to the club that the Mavis Trigg Foundation has very generously decided to match our container refunds from the recent May Racing Carnival dollar for dollar.  As we collected 53,880 containers over the three days, we have received $5,388 from the Victorian Container Recycling Scheme.  We will now also receive a similar amount from the Mavis Trigg Trust.  We do thank the trustees for this very generous offer.

The funds raised will be used to support the many charitable Rotary projects undertaken by the club.  This will include supporting Rotary's effort to eradicate polio, supporting international projects such as water projects in Papua New Guinea, running the Golden Community Raffle that provides a fundraising option to numerous sporting and community groups, supplying prizes to local primary schools, supporting the Rotary student exchange program, and sending young adults interested in a career in STEM to the National Youth Science Forum, to name just a few.
