The Rotary Club of Peterborough Kawartha is proud to be a supporter of the Monarch Ultra Marathon (MUM) project which was designed using a marathon relay race format to focus attention on the educational and environmental concerns of pollinator habitat loss.

The Monarch Ultra is a 4,300km (2,670 miles) relay run, beginning in Peterborough on September 19th and will follow the migratory path of monarch butterflies from Peterborough to the Sierra Madre Mountains in Mexico. Ultra-runners are invited to explore a diversity of landscapes across the North American continent! This will be one of the world's longest relay runs, amplified even more by the monarch migration and a documentary being produced along the way!
