Alan Bowes kindly (or not so kindly) stood in for Trevor Williams who was absent, and Ian Cairns who was also absent, which may be why not many escaped being fined. Football supporters of Warrnambool, Swans and Essendon were fined, as were most people whose faces appeared on the Bulletin, including the Editor for an unforgivable blunder in publishing names for the rosters and not the jobs. Birthdays, inductions and wedding anniversaries were also targetted, amongst others.
