Weekly wrap up with President President Peter
On the 5th the Club ventured to the Wangoom Hall for a now traditional night of fun and fashion in Warrnambool Race Week. We were catered for by the Wangoom Red Cross and the Club is happy to support them I this way.

I attended the Warrnambool Candlelight Vigil last Wednesday night. It was a somber affair reflecting on the lives of women and children who have lost their lives through Domestic Violence. We often talk about the women who have been killed but many children are also killed. In 2025 79 women and 27 children were killed. The vigil included a minutes silence for victims of DV. Warrnambool has the notoriety of being in the top 10 LGA’s for DV.
Congratulations Sharon Kenny for helping organise this important event and focusing the our attention to this pervasive issue.
 
Over the Warrnambool Race Days club members volunteered for the Leila Rose Foundation in selling Leila Rose pins. Kayla and Debbie were ace sales people and very successful. By early afternoon all 3,000 $10 pins had been sold. Happy to be part of such a worthwhile cause.
 
Brooke is organising a First Aid course for members. I had a FA incident recently where a young child had an epileptic fit near me and though my FA assistance wasn’t required it was a reminder of how this training can be vital in possibly saving a life.
 
Tony is gathering goods for delivery to Geelong into a container to go to PNG. He will need help.

“Trump translator”: Recession. What an UGLY word. A PROFANITY! But this global recession is the one we needed. I planned for it. Nobody knows how much, except me. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Reminder! We are collecting 10c bottles for our projects. This is a really easy way of earning 100% profit for out club. You can utilise the app, or Brooke has business cards with the barcode on it. All you need to do is scan the barcode at the machine, then put the bottles in.
Alternatively, you can put your bottles in the bucket at each Rotary meeting, or drop them to Brooke and George's house on Kelp St.
