Judy gave members an update on John’s recovery, happy to report that he is now at home.
RARE (previously DIK):
Several members helped Tony load the truck that’s to be sent to Geelong for transport to PNG. Tony had the sequence of loading worked out and with Judy’s advice it was all packed with no room left. Philip Ross helped again, he is a great contributor on our working bees. Tony left Geelong at 5.30am, fog almost all the way but unloaded and all went well. Repurposing Equipment (RARE) - RAWCS
John Beks has given Leon and myself some information about Neighbourhood Watch. John was a member back in the 90’s and was active until it folded. Data on Crime rate in Warrnambool, Australia - RedSuburbs shows that Warrnambool has higher than average crime rates. Neighbourhood Watch has been very successful in reducing residential burglary offences in other cities and towns. John is going to follow-up on getting someone from the Police Force to talk to the Club.
PE Chris Stebbing addressed the meeting and ran through all the projects, events and fund raisers that the Club is involved in. A questionnaire was then circulated asking for ideas for future projects or activities. There were plenty of good ideas for the Club to consider.
Brooke and helpers put on a fabulous display of our activities at the Warrnambool Volunteers Expo. The event was well attended and organised and our stall well supported by members. There were a few membership leads for follow-up.
