President Marie Bennett welcomed members and guests, visiting Rotarian Frank Monger from Mt Gambier and guest speaker Anne Waters. Marie reported that the Club had received a Certificate of Appreciation for assistance at the Quilt Show.
Please note that if you recently received an email purporting to come from RNZWCS is a scam. It was signed by PDG Stuart Batty from NZ and sought donations to assist Vanuatu after Cyclone Pam. PDG Stuart has been contacted by his District Governor and has no knowledge of the email seeking funds for RNZCWS for Vanuatu.
Therefore, do not remit any funds to New Zealand at this time.

NOW there is an Australian RAWCS project just set up to channel funds to the cyclone area. PDG Brian Trenery reported that the Rotary Lights Project meeting is on next Monday and he also thanked Ian Cairns for the radio interview in which he publicized the event. Rachel Furness was also thanked for her help. He reminded Rotarians about the upcoming Rotary Lights Project on Monday 23 March. This will be held at the TAFE building at Deakin University. At least 10 volunteers are needed to help out on the night with checking tyre pressures, checking headlights, directing traffic, keeping the billy boiling and the volunteers well watered. TAFE, Tyre Factory and Vic Police are all keenly following this Rotary initiative. A number of members expressed their interest on the night and more are needed. Please contact Robert Cuzens or Brian Trenery if you can help out.
Rural Urban Night at Mailors Flat Community Hall - 24 March
Club members will meet with the Mailors Flat Community at our meeting on 24 March. All are welcome and members are encouraged to invite guests. Terry O'Sullivan is the guest speaker and he will be talking about the redevelopment of the Warrnambool airport.
Father of the Year
Ian Cairns reported that there will be a Father of the Year meeting on Thursday 19 March and asked for another volunteer for the Committee.

This promises to be another enjoyable meeting with funds raised going to ARH. Matty Stewart will once again do a phantom race call. Numbers are needed early, so please let Anne Adams know if you are attending.
RYLA Dinner - Friday 10 April
Rachel Furnell advised that RYLA is coming up on 6-11 April with the dinner to be held on Friday 10 April at Camp Kangaroobie commencing 6:30 pm. All are welcome to attend and currently three have expressed their interest in attending.
Lyndoch Auxiliary Annual Fete - Thursday 19 March
in the Hostel Activities Room at 1:00 pm. Cakes, biscuits, slices, jams and relishes, books, CD's, vinyls, plants, craft, produce and much more. Raffle $1. Spinning wheel and afternoon tea. All welcome and any donations of cakes or produce on the day would be greatly appreciated.

Dinner Auction
John Stuckey reported that this year there will be a major beneficiary of the Dinner Auction who will also assist with attracting more guests and auction items. Possible organisations are The Leila Rose Foundation, The Hospice, or Standing Tall. Letters to potential donors wil go out at the end of March.
Chair, Svet Lineham introduced Anne Waters who has been the Regional Manager of headspace Warrnambool since 2012. Anne has brought to her role 15 years in managing the aged, disability and community development branch at Warrnambool City Council, and 10 years in managing the de-institutional transition of many people with a disability and their families into community residential services. Bringing her wealth of leadership and management experience to headspace Warrnambool has seen a consistent growth in the development of the headspace service model, through partnership and workforce development, improved service coordination and integration, and most importantly, increasing access to services for young people in our region.
Anne provided a presentation on the history of the development of headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, an overview of the national headspace strategy, rapid growth and further directions.
An interactive quiz tested our Rotarians knowledge about young people and mental health issues, reinforcing the purpose and need for a nationally branded, easy to access youth friendly service.
An overview of headspace Warrnambool development and growth over the past 3 years was provided, including governance, partnerships, and the demographic profile of young people accessing services. Anne also outlined the significant importance of including family and friends in supporting young people with mental health problems to seek help early and provided a range of resources and information for members to take away.
Last night Rotary Club of Warrnambool hosted members of the 29th Rotary Ride before they headed onto the next leg of their journey to Colac. It was a great night with around 80 people in attendance, 57 of whom were guests from District 9810.
