Brian advised enough people have now offered to help serve breakfast this term, at Warrnambool West PS, commencing 19th October 2016. This program is at no cost to Rotary.
Board Meeting
As there was not a quorum at the special meeting held on 15th October 2016, Brian asked the Board members to meet after the General Meeting.
Happy Birthday Eric Williams!
Eric will be celebrating his 96th birthday on Wednesday 19th October. Eric is still in hospital, but would be pleased to have “little “ visits especially for his birthday.
Certificate for Steve
Judy asked Steve Giddens to step forward. On behalf of Jane Cox (Past District Governor), Judy presented Steve with a Rotary International Certificate for the club with the most new members in the 2015/16 year for District 9780. Steve thanked and congratulated the whole club for the effort that went into this achievement.
Quilt Show
Andrea said in January 2017 it will be 2 years since the last Quilt Show. Our club has been offered all the proceeds of the major raffle. There are three major prizes. First prize a $1000 travel voucher, second prize a $600 quilt and third prize is a $500 bundle of quilting goods. There are about 2,000 tickets to sell. (Not as many to sell as for Ballarat Cars Raffle)

Louise said sales have been good, but tickets did not match with money. Please be careful. Money was down $14 on Saturday, and $6 the week before. It has been decided to change to 2 hour shifts.

Donations in Kind
Richard Hawker advised that, thanks to John Stuckey and West Vic, we now have use of a 20 foot container to store Donations-in-Kind. Items sought include supplies for Primary and Secondary schools such as books and other school equipment, blankets, crockery and cutlery. Items need to be in good condition and labelled. A working bee will be needed to sort and stack items.
Tony is also seeking an Agriculture bike (that is a 2 wheel, low cc motor bike) to send to village he works with in Mt Hagen, PNG.
Show Gates
Doug is still working on the roster. Rotaract members have also offered to help, as such our members may not need to spend so much time at the Show.
Louise in Europe.
Louise Keogh has just returned from France, and Europe visiting Rotarian Exchange families. Louise was also able to visit her son, Ryan, is on exchange in Finland. While it was very cold the hospitality of Rotarians more than made up for it. Every day was filled with activities and the amazing generosity of newly-made Rotary friends. Louise also presented Acting President Brian Trennery with a banner from the Rotary Club in Finland which is hosting Ryan.
