RYLA PRESENTATION DINNER Ian, on behalf of Rachael, advised that the Presentation Dinner for RYLA will be held on 12th April at 6.30pm. Cost is $20 per head. Please let Rachael know as soon as possible if you plan to attend. FATHER OF THE YEAR A committee meeting is to be held at 8.30am tomorrow (Wednesday) morning for all members’ involved FASHION PARADE Anne Adams happily reported to all the fabulous success of the Fashion Parade. It was a lovely afternoon at Timor Street Bowls Club with fashions by DAISY BOUTIQUE and make-up by NUTRIMETICS. 140 guests enjoyed a social afternoon with champagne on arrival, great fashions, raffles and lucky door prizes. After expenses a total of $2526.60 was raised for Tasty Plate. A huge effort by all involved. A big thank you to Joan Austin for her idea and wonderful effort. CONFERENCE Steve announced that the weekend in Geelong was fantastic. Warrnambool clubs came away with some prizes from the weekend with Daybreak club winning BEST DRESSED, and Jules' partner, Dion Symons winning the raffle major prize. Jules Threlfall-Ryan was presented with the raffle prize, on behalf of Dion, of a weekend in Hobart, including flights - A WONDERFUL PRIZE! Conference next year is 6-8th April 2018 at Mt Gambier Civic Centre. EXCHANGE STUDENTS Lou Keogh reported to us that we have received 2 profiles for incoming exchange students in July this year from Austria & Germany and has put the shout out for any members interested to host or be a counselor for these students. It is planned that the students be, once again, shared with all the clubs. There is a female student who is a vegetarian, and a male student. Lou also announced our RYPEN Student, Sharni Rogers-Brigden, who graduated with STANDING TALL, will be attending the weekend, along with Sophie, Tony & Joan Austin's granddaughter. We wish both girls a fabulous and enlightening weekend and look forward to hearing from them! FREE VEHICLE CHECK THIS THURSDAY FROM 6-8 PM at Bunnings. This has been widely advertised including with a great advertisement on TV. FINES Ian brought a new twist to the fines session with a brief game of heads and tails. A toss of the coin found all those with hands on tails being the lucky winners and fined for their good fortune!!!! |
