ROTARY HEALTH
All members watched a video on ROTARY HEALTH. FRIDAY 7th OCTOBER is Rotary Hat Day to LIFT THE LID ON MENTAL HEALTH. The video featured a number of people who spoke about Mental Health Awareness including Jeff Kennett who is a wonderful ambassador for this cause. There is great support for Mental Health but ALL ROTARIANS are encouraged to please help & support this wonderful cause!
 
HAT MAKING: To mark Rotary Hat Day we all enjoyed making our special hats which were judged by Mathilde (men's hats) & Tim (ladies' hats). The 3 men's finalists were Micheal Boyd, Richard Hawker & John Hunt with the winner being RICHARD HAWKER! The Ladies' finalists were Judy Ross, Gerry Delaney & Jules with Tim announcing JUDY ROSS a very worthy winner with her creation. CONGRATULATIONS to RICHARD & JUDY!!!
 
$120.70 was raised with a raffle with CONGRATULATIONS going to ALLAN BOWES collecting a selection of wines to enjoy! All funds raised will go to Rotary Health.
PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Sergeant at Arms Svette informed us tonight's meeting is ROTARY HEALTH NIGHT with a focus on mental health. This coming Friday is Rotary Hat Day and we will be marking this  & making paper hats re:Hat Day this Friday & welcomed acting President Brian
 
Acting President Brian Trennery welcomed all, including exchange students Tim & Mathilde, and guest, Gerry Delaney. Brian advised that the Breakfast Club at West Warrnambool Primary School will not be going ahead this week as he has been unable to get confirmation from the School. Further information regarding the Breakfast Club will be provided in due course.

LAKE GALEAR Caravan park are interested in Rotary running BBQ's during their busy summer months with proceeds staying in Rotary! More information to come.

Car Raffle Roster:  Volunteers are still required. This is an ongoing project. Please see Louise Brennan to add your name to the roster to sell tickets.  Volunteers are needed to sell tickets at Woolworths and Bunnings.  Please wear your Rotary shirt when doing so. And don’t forget to sell tickets to family and friends, and at your work place. Tables and chairs are available.   
 
Show Gates: Judy Ross advised that Doug Maclean has emailed everyone regarding the roster. Please be sure to check the roster and contact Doug if you can help any extra times!
 
Coonawarra Weekend. Judy Ross advised that all is in readiness for the trip this coming weekend. We are really looking forward to a great weekend and praying for good weather. Everyone, please remember the bus will be leaving at 8am sharp! So, please arrive 10 to 15 minutes earlier to enable packing and organisation. We hope everyone has a safe, fun-filled weekend. 
 
Eric Williams: Richard Hawker advised that Eric is going along well and hopes to be home from hospital on 11th October. Eric would welcome any visitors – ROOM 25 on the rehab ward at Warrnambool Base Hospital.

EXCHANGE STUDENT REPORT - MATHILDE KUSK
Mathilde has provided this short report of her experiences over the past month.
 
"So far this month in Australia I have been to Bemm river and lakes entrance. After travelling to this place I have now seen more of Australia that I had not seen before. The car ride was long and tiring but worth it in the long run. The holidays have been very nice and relaxing seeing more and more of this country each day. I have spent a lot more time with my family and friends getting to know them more on a personal level. But I’m looking to forward coming back to school and starting the new term."
