PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Sergeant at Arms, PP John Hunt welcomed everyone to our Rotary meeting, especially those who donated to our Dinner Auction: Craig and Heather from Coates Hire, Di Hussey, Joan Symons, Don Bartlett from Bamstone. Hospice representatives, Deidre Bidmade and Daelene Bourke were also welcomed. Other guests included Louise, Alice and Ryan Keogh, Margaret Ross, Anne and David Hunt, Jenny Trenery, Phillip Ross and Robyn Blackmore, and of course Astrid.
President Marie welcomed John Beks to the meeting and Michael Boyd thanked those Rotarians who donated goods to the Dinner Auction.
President Marie Bennett presented a cheque for $5,500 to ‘Hospice in the Home’ representatives Deidre Bidmade and Daelene Bourke. Hospice in the Home is about helping people make the most of every moment as their lives draw to a close. It is about keeping people at home, if they don’t want to be, and don’t need to be, in busy hospitals. The Hospice in the Home Manager, and the team of specially trained volunteers, know how to offer care that helps meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those who are dying, as well as their families. Deidre and Daelene thanked Rotary for their generous support.
