Port Fairy Folk Festival
On behalf of David Brown who was unable to attend the meeting, Anne Adams thanked all those who volunteered to work at the Port Fairy Folk Festival over the long weekend. Our Club is expecting to receive a $4,000 payment for the efforts of all our volunteers. Well done and thank you.Rotary Meeting Wednesday 18 March
We will be having a Rotary meeting Wednesday 18 March to host members of District 9810 who are doing a Rotary Ride for Australian Rotary Health. It will be held at the Warrnambool Football Club at 6:00 pm for a 6.15pm start. Cost will be $20 for the meal. The people who are riding their bikes are Rotarians, exchange students, family and friends. They are coming from Ballarat and going to Colac. It would be great if as many club members as possible could come along and make some new Rotary friends. Please let Svet Lineham know by Monday 16 March if you would are able to attend.
Our regular Tuesday night meeting on 17 March will be happening as usual. Guest speaker is Anne Waters who is the Regional Manager of headspace Warrnambool. headspace is a government established National Youth Mental Health Foundation, providing mental and health wellbeing support, information and services to young people. Anne is an excellent speaker and members will not be disappointed.
Rotary Lights Project - Monday 23 March
Brian Trenery reminded Rotarians about the upcoming Rotary Lights Project on Monday 23 March. This will be held at the TAFE building at Deakin University. At least 10 volunteers are needed to help out on the night with checking tyre pressures, checking headlights, directing traffic, keeping the billy boiling and the volunteers well watered. TAFE, Tyre Factory and Vic Police are all keenly following this Rotary initiative. A number of members expressed their interest on the night and more are needed. Please contact Robert Cuzens or Brian Trenery if you can help out. There will be a brief meeting for those interested in helping after our usual meeting on 17 March.
Posters for the Rotary Lights Project are available and Rachel Furnell encouraged members to take as many as they liked and put them up in their work places ad give to neighbours and friends.
Long Lunch in the Garden - 12 March

Rotary Foundation Movie Night fundraiser for "End Polio Now" - 13 March - "The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel"
This film evening is to be held on Friday 13 March at 7pm at the Capitol Cinema in Kepler Street. Tickets are $20 (of which $11 goes to the END POLIO NOW program).
Rural Urban Night at Mailors Flat Community Hall - 24 March
Club members will meet with the Mailors Flat Community at our meeting on 24 March. All are welcome and members are encouraged to invite guests. Terry O'Sullivan is the guest speaker and he will be talking about the redevelopment of the Warrnambool airport.
RYLA Dinner - Friday 10 April
Rachel Furnell advised that RYLA is coming up on 6-11 April with the dinner to be held on Friday 10 April at Camp Kangaroobie. All are welcome to attend and currently three have expressed their interest in attending.
Midfield Meats Friendship Barbecue - 12 April
Rotarian Graeme Ross has had good discussions with Midfield and the labour company that employs some 300 young workers from Taiwan (home of the new RI President) and South Korea. Peter Abbott has offered us Flagstaff Hill free of charge on Sunday April 12 for an international friendship barbecue, and the workers are being surveyed for interest in attending. Warrnambool East Rotary has expressed an interest in joining us. If 300 Midfielders want to attend, we would need all the assistance we can get.

Lyndoch Auxiliary Annual Fete - Thursday 19 March
in the Hostel Activities Room at 1:00 pm. Cakes, biscuits, slices, jams and relishes, books, CD's, vinyls, plants, craft, produce and much more. Raffle $1. Spinning wheel and afternoon tea. All welcome and any donations of cakes or produce on the day would be greatly appreciated.
All proceeds to Lyndoch Living.
Oxfam Walk - Sunday 22 March
John Nisbet reminded members that OXFAM is holding a fund raising walk on Sunday 22 March starting at Merri Street. A donation bucket and sheet was passed around the tables on the night seeking donations. All funds will go to support people in Bangladesh.
Rotary Youth Training
Janet Blackley thanked Keith McLeod and Ian Sharman for helping out with the Rotary Youth Training.
Invoices
Invoices for outstanding membership fees will be sent out soon. Janet Blackley asked the person who paid their fees directly to South West Credit to please identify themselves, as she has no way of knowing who it was.
Update on Margaret Stuckey
John Stuckey provided us with an update on Margaret's progress. Margaret is having hydro and physio and although her surgery has been very successful , the road to recovery will be slow with 3 months of rehab in front of her. We all wish Margaret well in her recovery.
Rotary Jackets
At the Conference Rotary jackets will be available to purchase for $80 and Rachel has offered to obtain jackets on behalf members unable to attend. These jackets are not available elsewhere. Please let Rachel or Brian know if you wish to place an order.
Exchange Student for 2015/16
Steve Giddens informed members that the Club will be sponsoring a German Exchange student. She is currently 15 years old and will be arriving mid year as Astrid leaves to return to Denmark. Steve is seeking host parents now so that by the time our new student arrives everything will be in place. Members who have expressed an interest in hosting our new student are Svet, Andrea and Isobel. Ideally, we would like two more members to volunteer and host our new student. Terry and Isobel will continue in their same roles with the new student.
