PORT FAIRY FOLK FESTIVAL OPPORTUNITIES

Rotary Foundation Movie Night fundraiser for "End Polio Now" - 13 March
Mary Fitzgerald advised that this film evening is to be held on Friday 13  March at 7pm at the Capitol Cinema in Kepler Street. Mary advised us that the film “The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel" actually opens on the 26 February and she asked Rotarians to hold off seeing it until the fund raiser night. Tickets are $20 (of which $11 goes to the  END POLIO NOW program). The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel stars Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Richard Gere and many other well-known actors and is the sequel to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Both movies are based on the novel “These Beautiful Things” written by Deborah Moggach. Google  “Marigold Hotel” and you can find out much more about both movies.
 
Communities That Care Public Forum - 25 February
Ian Cairns reminded members that recent guest speaker, Cameron Price spoke about Communities that Care   and invited Rotarians to attend a public forum at the Lighthouse Studio on 25/2/15.  Ian also mentioned that another project being worked on by Care Communities  is “ Ice Fight”.
 
Voices for Peace Concert
Judy Ross reminded us that Voices for Peace  will be held on 5 March at the Lighthouse Theatre at 7.30 pm.  Tickets are $30 from Judy ($35 if you just walk in off the street). All profit to support the Rotary Foundation Peace Scholarships.
 
Long Lunch in the Garden 
“Long Lunch” in the Garden at Bill and Lydia Sinclair’s, 105 Banyan St at  12.30 pm Sunday 15th March.

John Stuckey said several people had asked how Margaret was after surgery.  He said she had been in ICU, but that she is now up and about and into Rehab.
