NEXT WEEK IS CLUB ASSEMBLY
Next week we are holding a Club Assembly. Traditionally, members steer away from attending on such nights. Members are encouraged to attend the club assembly as it will give you an opportunity to talk with the directors and give you the chance to have input to the future of our club.
Club assemblies are vital to the planning of the club.
The week following the assembly, we will hear reports from the various avenues of service and in addition, reports from, Fundraising, Public Relations and any projects that are in the planning or underway.
Looking forward to seeing you next week.
Exchange Student Astrid thanked club members for their Christmas gift of a Myer Card to the value of $505. John and Anne Hunt took her to Melbourne shopping and they stayed at the RACV Club. Astrid stated that having no family to celebrate Christmas with this year meant that Rotary was her family, and she thanked everyone for their kindness.
Quilt Show - 9, 10, 11 January - Brauer College
Andrea Sampson reminded members of the Quilt Show this weekend and distributed roster reminders for assigned duties over the three days. Set-up will be simple this year because it has already been started, although it would be appreciated if anyone else "with muscles" could help out.
Bowling Night - 27 January - Dennington Bowls Club
Judy Ross advised that barefoot bowls at the Dennington Bowls Club has been organised for 27 January. All members will be asked to bring a salad or sweet, so please make sure the person who will be preparing this is notified! Next week Judy will be asking you to advise what you will be bringing. Families and friends are welcome. $15 per head. If the weather is wet, indoor bowls is available.
Money SpinnerMichael Boyd advised that we now have a money spinner in action at Target. In three weeks we have received $125 for nothing. Members were encouraged to go and have a look and even put a coin in. A second one has been delivered and ideas for good places to locate this would be appreciated.
