REMINDER - CHANGE OF VENUE NEXT WEEK TO DEAKIN UNIVERSITY FOR THE LIGHTS PROJECT:
Lights Project - Tuesday 7 October
Reminder that next week's meeting will be the Lights Project practice run and training at SW TAFE’s Sherwood Campus at Deakin University. To reach the location take the Deakin turn off, cross the rail line and then take the first turn to the left. This will be a bit of a trial run to check the external lights of Rotary members vehicles. The CFA have loaned TAFE a sight board to assist with proper head light adjustments. A BBQ dinner will be provided to members at the usual cost of $20.00. IMPORTANT: When parking, face the car towards Warrnambool and the exit gate.
Walk for a Cure is on this Sunday at Lake Pertobe near the carnival site commencing at 9:00 am. All welcome.
RCW will be providing a BBQ and helpers are needed.
Astrid's Fund Raiser for Homeless People - Changed to Sunday 12 October
Anne Adams explained Astrid is required to raise some money to purchase swags for homeless people (each swag costs approx $100). Astrid our lovely Danish Exchange student has a fund raiser planned for Sunday 12 October to be held at Anne’s house. Astrid will be cooking some Danish food and Anne said she would welcome any contributions of food on the day. The men are welcome to watch Bathurst Car races on Anne’s TV. The cost for the lunch will be $5 a head and Anne would welcome some help on the day.

Doug Maclean is working on the roster for this event and asked Rotarians to contact him about their availability to help, including what time and what days. Doug will assume that if you make no contact, you will be rostered!
Survey
Steve Giddens encouraged Rotarians to complete the Club Satisfaction Survey emailed out during the week. This is part of his Rotary Leadership Institute Course and it needs to be back by 7 October.
An announcement was made on behalf of Eric Williams regarding the upcoming Warrnambool Organ Festival to be held over two days and at three locations – Christ Church Anglican; St Joseph’s Roman Catholic; St Johns Presbyterian – on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 October. Visit to Warrnambool Hospital
Brian Trenery advised that following on from Dr Barry Morphett's address at the last week, Rotarians have been invited to visit the Warrnambool Hospital on Tuesday the 18 November between 5 and 6 pm – further details are yet to be arranged closer to the date.
Hat Day - Tuesday 28 October at 6:00 pm
Wear your favourite hat! is coming up on Tuesday 28 October at 6 pm. Guest speaker will be Isabelle Collins who will talk about the Rotary Health Research Fund and speak about the issue of mental health. This Rotary Year's District Conference will be 20-22 March 2015 in Maryborough. Members are encouraged to attend and it is recommended to start thinking now about seeking accommodation in Maryborough if you plan on attending the conference. If you need any help with registration, please see Rachel.
