Father of the Year

Rotarian Ian Cairns thanked those Rotarians who have collected school entries and asked that late entries be left at Brophy in Timor Street. The presentation breakfast will take place on Friday August 30 from 7:00 am, at the Timor Street Bowls Club. Guest speaker will be Brian Brown, Vice-Principal at Emmanuel and father of sporting greats Jonothon and Gabby Brown. Good support is being given by 3YB and tickets may be purchased from Rotarian Svet.

Volunteers for the judging panel are needed next Tuesday night before Rotary from 5:15 pm. Please see Ian if you can help.

 

 

 

Rotarian Ron Rauert outlined Cam's assistance to the Club in 1971 at Tower Hill, in helping establish a lookout and gliding take-off point. He recommended members visit this amazing spot and reflect on the work done there, now 42 years ago.

 

Rotarian John is still in St Vincent's in Melbourne, making slow progress. Further surgery on a problem leg is likely. John is very much in all of our thoughts at this time.

 

A meeting of the Rotary Club of Warrnambool Board will take place next week. Reports to be circulated prior to the meeting.

 

President John Hunt has received a thankyou letter and cheque. Well done to all who assisted. Visitors to the Festival commented on the friendliness of the volunteers.

 

Rotarian Duncan Stalker advised that the RSL has contributed $500 to Caleb Ballinger's Canada-wide Science Fair expenses, for which Caleb and the Club are very grateful.

 

Rotarian Ron Rauert advises that the 2013 Eisteddfod has now concluded and he, together with the Eisteddfod Committee, thanks all Rotarians who assisted. Rotary volunteers are invited to drinks and nibbles before Rotary on August 20, at the Hammond Fellowship Centre, Anglican Church 5:15 pm.

 

Rotarians John Harris and Tony Austin have emailed members seeking assistance on Wednesday August 14 between 4:30 - 5:00 pm to set up and commence cooking no later than 5:45 pm, serving from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Could any Rotarians who can help out please contact Tony ASAP so that he can organise a roster around the time slots below.
