Rotary Youth Leadership Award
Rotarian Michael Boyd encouraged members to think of a young person who would benefit by the opportunity to attend RYLA on 13-18 April 2014. This is a great opportunity for young people to develop leadership skills and personal development. Applicants to be 18-25 years old. Applications should be in by December. $450 cost for food and accommodation and will be held at Kangaroobie.
Rotary House Opening - 22nd November
PDG Andrew Suggett advised that the official opening of Rotary House will be on Friday 22 November at 1:30pm and all are welcome to attend. On behalf of the Rotary House Committee Andrew presented Rotarian Tony Austin with a Rotary House Companion in appreciation of all his work and commitment to the Rotary House Project. Well done Tony.
Working Bee - Thursday 14 November
Remember there is a working bee at Anne Adams' garden on Thursday 14 November starting at 10am. The following people have put their hands up to help: Tony Austin, Ian Sadler, Judy and Phillip Ross, Robin Konigson, John Nisbet, Ron Bishop, Jim Hanrahan, Rob McNally and Fabio. More helpers are needed and if you can come please let John Harris or Tony Austin know so they can let Anne know as she has generously offered to provide lunch and will need to know numbers for catering purposes.

Farmers Day out 24 November
Another task for Rotarians is our catering for the Farmers Day Out on 24th of November it is a lunchtime event we are looking for a maximum of 6 Rotarians to assist with cooking the meat and maybe a bit of serving Tony will have more information at next week’s Rotary meeting, please indicate to either Tony or myself of your availability. Christmas Hams, Turkeys & Puddings
The Rotary Club of Geelong is a foundation supporter of the Sariri Village project and one of the ways they raise funds for the project each year is by selling Christmas goodies. The Rotary Club of Warrnambool has been invited to participate and goods will be delivered to Warrnambool. Show that Mo!
The Tin Shed Singers present "Show that Mo!" on Friday 15 November at the Mozart Hall at 7:30 pm. There will also be a Picnic beforehand from 6:00 pm and tickets can be purchased for $15 from Dale Cleves Music. Funds raised will go to Supporting Mens' Health. Mock Interviews for Brauer College Students - 27 November
Sergeant Andrea Sampson called for interested Rotarians to help with mock interviews of Brauer College students. Times will be:
9:30am - 11:00am
11:30am - 1:00pm
1:30pm - 3:00pm
Inner Wheel Garden Party Update
Kaye Slater advised that despite the rain they recieved a very good response to the garden party, raising a total of $4,885 from which expenses of around $450 will be deducted. Two thirds of the funds raised will go to Peter's Project and one third to Inner Wheel and local charities. Kaye thanked all who had some sort of input to the day.
Inner Wheel Christmas Gift Wrapping
Kaye Slater also advised that they have been allocated 1 week at K-mart and 10 days at Target to do Christmas gift wrapping and invited anyone wishing to participate to let her know. Last year this activity raised $5,000 which went to Rotary House.
