ROTARY CLUB OF WARRNAMBOOL DAYBREAK LONG LUNCH FUNDRAISING EVENT

Our Rotary club has been fundraising for the local community for 20 years.
One of our major events for the year is our annual "Long Lunch". This year funds raised from the event

The Rotary Club of Warrnambool Daybreak has committed to providing support to Warrnambool
Special Development School to assist with the purchase of playground equipment.

The Special Development School caters for 160 students (aged between 5 and 18) who have met the
eligibility criteria for enrolment by having an lQ of below 70.

The School is the only Special School in the area and services a 50km radial area from Warrnambool
with a population of approximately 35,000 residents. A home to school bus service transports our
students between home and school.

The building of the School has caught the attention and imagination of the public as a whole, being the
first brand new Government School to be built on a new site in the Warrnambool area since Brauer
College (Warrnambool Technical School) was built some 46 years ago.

Our Rotary Club sees the great need for those with intellectual and physical disabilities to have access
to other facilities and playground equipment, but funding for this needs to be raised by our community.

Our club is also pleased to provide support to South West Healthcare.
South West Healthcare's current appeal is aimed at raising $150,000 to buy a desperately-needed
(and otherwise unaffordable) second lmage lntensifier (X-ray Machine) for the Warrnambool operating
theatres.

Only having the one lmage lntensifier impacts when, for example, more than one person needs surgery
following a car accident. This is a significant need. Any person in our region could be affected by this
need - which makes it a great cause to support.
