HAT NIGHT

Richard Hawker thanked everyone for coming and making the evening a special one.  He said the evening’s program was planned to bring awareness about mental health and to learn about the role that the  Australian Rotary Health Research Fund (ARHRF) plays – To  Shine a Light on Mental llness. Richard said that everyone present would most likely know of someone who is or was affected by mental illness  –  maybe depression,  anxiety,  schizophrenia,  anorexia, or one of the many other serious conditions.  One person in 5 is affected by mental illness. Tonight's aim was to raise money for the ARHRF and to do that everyone was asked to participate in the auctions (silent and not so silent). Special thanks go to the generous donors – Gordon Curran, Betty Nisbet, Anne Adams, Ron Rauert, Eric Williams, Keith Mcleod, and the Good Guys,  and to Rachel and Astrid for judging the hats and distributing  the prizes. President Marie thanked  Richard, Keith, Astrid, Rachel and anyone else who helped in the preparation.
