Michael Boyd reported on a very successful Dinner Auction last Saturday night. He congratulated members for helping collect the goods for the auction. Out of 270 letters that were sent out, 250 responses were received. A number of members also donated items and invited friends to come along.
Also thanked were the people who came along on Saturday morning to set up the room and items for sale.
Special thanks to Tony Austin for setting up the program and computers on the night, Karina for the Powerpoint presentation, as well as preparation of the auction booklets, Andrea for the "wall of fortune", Rob Cuzens for the wheelbarrow raffle, Terry and Rachel for collecting the funds, Robby for registrations, as well as other committee members Sharon Stark, Anne Adams, John Stuckey,  Louise Brennan, Steve Giddens and Trevor Williams.
The bottom line at this stage is around $27,000 which is an excellent result. On the radio this morning there was an announcement that all of the funds would be going to Standing Tall, however this will be fixed up.
Rotarians were encouraged to support those businesses who supported us and to say thanks for their contribution to Rotary.
For the second year in a row Marie Bennett got the lucky key and won $1,000. Congratulations Marie.
