A GREAT NIGHT WAS HAD BY ALL

Saturday night's dinner auction was a great success and 140 people enjoyed a night out with friends, great food, entertaining auctioneers, an array of over 250 items for auction, plus spot prizes and a wheelbarrow raffle. 

The Club approached 290 businesses seeking assistance for our annual dinner auction. Goods or services were donated by 213 businesses, plus 4 financial donations and items donated by 8 club members. Twenty approaches were not finalised and 52 businesses were unable to support his year for various reasons.

The gross profit = $25,457.20

Special thanks to South West Credit for their ongoing support as major sponsor; BBQs Galore for access to storage and EFTPOS facility; Elders for auctioning; and Richard Ziegeler for assistance with the auction. Warrnambool and District Community Hospice in the Home also promoted the evening to their supporters and the Warrnambool Bowls Club provided a fine meal and excellent support in preparing for the night.

Special thanks also to the Dinner Auction Committee members and all Club members who collected items, assisted with set up on Saturday, attended the evening, brought guests and entered into the spirit of the night. Thanks also to Mary Bouwman for taking some great photos of the evening. In particular, Ian Cairns thanked the Committee Chair, Michael Boyd for all the work he put into the night and making the work so much easier for the committee.

Proceeds from the night will enable a significant donation to the Warrnambool and District Hospice and the balance of funds will support activities of the Rotary Club of Warrnambool throughout 2015/16.
