2015 DINNER AUCTION

 
The Annual Goods and Services Auction is the primary fund raising activity conducted by RCW. Without referring to financial reports, it is estimated that the annual auction will have raised more than $400,000 for this Club to distribute to charities over the last 20 years.
Once again Southwest Credit is our major sponsor and the team from Elders will conduct the auction. We have some surprise entertainment during the night also.
we have a very keen and active committee to run this year's auction, but it will only be a success if EVERY CLUB MEMBER plays a part. there are many ways in which you can contribute:
  • As a committee member responsible for organising the event.
  • Buy tickets and bring partners and friends on the night.
  • Assist with collecting donations (285 letters will go out, 285 businesses need to be approached). All Club members will be required to help - 40 members - about 7 each.
  • Donate items to the auction. No letter will be sent to Club members, you need to volunteer your goods and bring them to the Club meeting.
  • Donate goods for the wine cellar (to be auctioned) and wheelbarrow raffle - also bring them to Club meetings. Tony Austin and Rob McNally have agreed to be the receivers of donations; they will deliver them to Roy Slater's shed for storage and sorting.
  • Assist on the day and night by setting up, holding up goods for auction, selling raffle tickets etc.
  • Making a donation to the Club in return for goods donated during the main auction, silent auction or buying a lucky number. Buying a key (only 20) to win the $1000 from SW Credit. There are many additional items given away with each key - up to $100 worth.
The Auction will be on 23 May 2015 at the Warrnambool Bowls Club, you have plenty of notices, so don't double book that night. We need all members, partners and friends to attend and enjoy the evening. It will only cost $30 per head to attend and it has proven to be an enjoyable night, whether you are a big spender, a silent auction bidder or a raffle ticket buyer.
This year we are trying something different, by nominating one charity to be a major recipient of funds from the night - Warrnambool and District Hospice has been chosen after three charities were interviewed by John Stuckey. The major recipient will assist with the night by buying tickets to attend and possibly assist with attracting donations.
We are also trying to use Facebook to promote the auction and those businesses who donate, collectors will be asked to record the Facebook address for businesses who donate.
Next week we will be issuing you with collectors kits, which will include a copy of the letter sent out, forms for you to complete details and slips to attach to any goods collected.
