2014 ANNUAL DINNER AUCTION

 
The Chair of the 2014 Dinner Auction Committee, Marie Bennett introduced members of the Committee: Ian Cairns, Rachel Furnel, Roy Slater, Tony Austin, Michael Boyd, Judy Ross, Rob McNally, Ian Sadler and Sharon Stark.
 
Roy Slater, Ian Cairns, Marie Bennett , Judy Ross and Tony Austin provided an overview of the preparations leading up to the event and what will happen on the night, details of which are:
 
Date - Saturday 24 May at 6:00 pm.
Venue - Warrnambool Bowls Club in Timor Street
Tickets - $30.00 for a 3 course meal and 2 bottles of wine per table

The importance of the Annual Dinner Auction was emphasised as the Club's major fund raiser for the year. Without this event, the Club would not have sufficient funds to support projects. It is hoped to raise in excess of $20,000 this year - $30,000 is not out of reach if everyone pitches in and helps.
 
The 204 Rotary Club of Warrnambool Dinner Auction needs all Club members to be involved. 
 
Last year's meal at the Warrnambool Bowls Club was not a success and it has been agreed that over the years we have been placing stress on venues in an effort to keep the price down, i.e. in 1998 the cost was $25 per head and 15 years later the cost remains the same. As a result the cost has risen to $30 this year and the Warrnambool Bowls Club has promised to make amends for last year's slip up. The reason for choosing the Warrnambool Bowls Club was because of the unavailability of other venues and committee members on preferred dates.
 
Ways in which you can help out:
  • Organise a donation of goods or services from a business you may be involved wth - cash, services, major items or small items welcome (start asking now).
  • Suggestions for new ideas for fundraising are welcome.
  • Review donor lists which were on tables Tuesday night and add businesses, delete, amend where relevant and email Ian Sadler.
  • Start now to get a table of people together for the night.
  • Donate some items for the "Wheel Barrow Raffle"
  • Donate 1, 2, or more bottles of wine for the "Instant Wine Cellar"
  • Volunteer to collect from businesses who receive a letter from the Club and deliver the donated goods to Roy Slater's shed, or give to Roy at a meeting night.
  • Offer to assist with set up or conduct of the evening.
The Organising Committee looks forward to an enthusiastic response by Club members.
