I Volunteered on Mercy Ships
Hannah is a registered theatre nurse in Warrnambool and wanted to be a pat of the exciting difference Mercy Ships can make in people's lives. Hannah Newell says of the inspiration to spend four weeks volunteering with international charity Mercy Ships on board the hospital ship, Africa Mercy in Madagascar.
Hannah became a nurse because it was a profession she could travel all around the world with and do volunteer work to help those less fortunate than herself. She found that theatre nursing was her favourite area of nursing and Mercy Ships provided her with a perfect opportunity to use those particular skills to bring hope and healing to those less fortunate in particular to the Malagasy people.
