The Rotary Club of Horsham East with other local service Clubs, WIM Resources and the Horsham Rural City Council are please to support and sponsor the University of New South Wales Youth Science and Engineering Challenge
On Thursday representatives from the Rotary Club of Horsham East, Local State Member of Parliament, WIM Resources attended the senior graduation ceremony at the Holy Trinity Lutheran School to present year 10 participants with the Winners Shield for being the highest scoring school in the local round of the Science event.
As a result of the HTLC Year 10 students score in the Horsham event, they joined seven qualifying schools from throughout Western Australia, Alice Springs and Tasmania to take part in the Science and Engineering Challenge National Final, hosted in Bendigo.
Students were challenged with several science problems and used their critical thinking skills to help solve them. Unfortunately, they did not place on the day, but a great effort was put in staff and students to attend at short notice
.
The local organisations that support this science challenge congratulated the HTLC for having the highest score in the Wimmera event, and making the final and also all other schools both senior and junior for attending this event in Horsham to allow there students to be part of this Science and Engineering Challenge. We are looking forward to the 2023 event.
