After being invited to apply, the typical membership application process looks like this:

Membership Application Process

 

We welcome individuals who share our vision of service, fellowship, and leadership to consider joining the Seoul Hanmaum Rotary Club. Below is our membership pathway:

1. Visit as a Guest

  • You may visit our club as a guest up to three times before deciding whether membership is right for you.

  • Any current member can invite you to attend.

2. Express Your Interest

  • If you feel our club is a good fit, you can:

    • Let a current member know you’d like to apply, or

    • Reach out directly to our Board of Directors (BOD) or Membership Committee.

  • Current members may also recommend someone they believe would be a good addition to our club.

3. Apply for Membership

  • To apply, you’ll need to submit a short application form (and optionally, a professional resume or short bio).

  • Your information will only be used for membership evaluation, in line with privacy regulations.

  • The Membership Committee reviews applications to ensure alignment with our values and eligibility. If needed, we may arrange a short informal conversation with you.

4. Member Review Period

  • Once preliminarily approved, your name and brief bio will be shared with all active members for 7 days.

  • During this time, members can raise any serious concerns privately with the committee. Only concerns relevant to Rotary values (e.g., ethics, conduct, past behavior) will be considered.

  • After the review, the Board of Directors will vote on your membership.

5. Approval and Induction

  • If approved, you’ll receive an official notice (by email or text) and be invited to your formal induction ceremony at a future club meeting.

  • You will then be welcomed as a full member of our Rotary family.

6. Code of Ethics Commitment

  • Before finalizing membership, all new members must review and sign the Seoul Hanmaum Rotary Club Code of Ethics.

  • Agreement to this Code is a condition of membership and ensures that we maintain the highest standards of integrity and service.
