Our Club was honoured to have Patrick Boyer as our guest speaker this past 7am Tuesday morning meeting.
He is a local author and historian and has written 25 books with one being “Muskokans Fights the Great War” which was about the first world war and its impact on Muskoka. His latest books are “Putting Muskoka on the Map” which is about the mapping of Muskoka from Indigenous origin to today's geo-mapping. It contains old maps and maps from today. It will be released in the winter of 2022. His other book is “Muskokans Embrace the Roaring Decades”. It focuses on all the big changes to Muskoka over the last several decades. He spoke the most of the 1920’s which included the first world war, the Spanish Flu and styles of clothing, etc. This book will be available in the spring of 2022. He spoke how we are living through history.
