Cycling for Shelterbox
The following is a letter sent to our club by Bob Robinson from the Rotary Club of Kapuskasking
Sept 12, 2008
Cycling for Shelterbox in northern Ontario has been a great success!
With very generous support from Rotarians and communities, I was able to cycle from Kapuskasing to Sudbury and raised awareness and support for the Shelterbox organization.
Pledges and donations will allow us to sponsor more than FIVE shelterboxes! That means very tangible aid can be delivered to at least 50 disaster victims in need.
The trip was a challenge for five days; however, it went very well and I had excellent receptions along the way. I left Kapuskasing on September 2nd and arrived in Sudbury on September 6th. (And I am happy to report that there were no major wildlife encounters.)
Thank you to Rotary Clubs in District 7010 who provided support, and to others in communities along the way. This would not be possible without your very generous support.
Thank you again!
Bob Robinson, Rotary Club of Kapuskasing
