Thanks to all of you, we were able to contribute an additional $1400+ which was over and above the $1500 the club donated. This was a wonderful gesture and on behalf of every person who may have benefited from your generosity, I say thank you!

Muskoka Mardi Gras –April 16, 2011: In order for our major fundraiser to be successful, we need everyone to do their utmost to find sponsors for our ticket brochure (and then later, to sell tickets and help out on the day of the event). Please refer to Leslie McCann’s email that she sent out just before Christmas for more details. (see attached)
Foundation Bonspiel – January 29, 2011 We now have 11 teams but need 5 more to reach our necessary target of 16 teams. Please do your VERY best to put together a team. (See attached registration form for more details).
Membership Committee – Today Terry and her committee had each member pick a number to determine which “Five for One” team they were assigned to. Each team needs to work together to find, invite and induct a member over the next few months. Teams are listed below. Presentations
Bob Neibert spoke today, with his wife Barb at his side, and shared with our members with much regret that he is withdrawing from his future position as District Governor. Test results from his recent hospital stay indicate that Bob is having some serious health issues and as a result, must step back from this role. Diane Chantler presented two Paul Harris Fellowships today…Terry Hodges for the first time; John de Koning for his PHF +2. Congratulations to both of you! Over half of our club members are now Paul Harris Fellows.

Blood Donor Challenge – The Rotary Club of Kempenfelt has officially issued the challenge to every club in District 7010 to donate blood this January. The club with the most donated units wins “Billy the blood Bank Beaver” for a year! The date for our club to donate is Monday, January 24 at the Bracebridge Sportsplex between 1pm and 7:30pm. Sessions will start Saturday morning and run all day, and will start again on Sunday and run to mid-afternoon. There will be fellowship opportunities Friday night, and a dinner and entertainment Saturday night. More details will be forthcoming as we move forward but please set the date
In the past we have held President Elect Training (PETS), Secretary and Youth Exchange training and these will still be an integral part of the weekend but we would like to expand the program to include interactive workshops that will benefit all Rotarians – new or experienced. We would like to help people prepare to take on leadership positions in their clubs or at the District level. Be sure to join your club’s incoming President for a great weekend of fellowship and learning.
