The “TALK DERBY TO ME” Gala, Saturday, May 7th brought the excitement of the Kentucky Derby to Muskoka.

The members of the Rotary Club of Bracebridge-Muskoka Lakes, along with the finest hospitality food and beverage providers in Muskoka, were elated with the SOLD OUT ‘derby, dinner and dance’ evening, that ran in concert with the live 2017 Kentucky Derby!

Along with all the excitement of watching the main event, Paul Hammond, Marg Walton, Jeff Hodges and Norm Miller volunteered to a game of ‘Steeplechase’ after dinner, led by the MC Michael Duben.  Marg Walton won to a thunderous roar of applause.

Best dressed awards went out to Andrew McDermott and Geordie Newlands for their colour inspired jockey look.  They received free tickets to next year’s event and promised something even more playful for the 16th Annual Rotary Gala.

In addition to having a great time, the evening raised over $36,000 which will be shared with the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation and several local Bracebridge and Muskoka Lakes organizations.

This event couldn’t have happened without our numerous sponsors including Scotiabank Port Carling, Muskoka Window and Door Centre, Muskoka Lumber, Tamarack North, Wes Finch & Sons, Greavette GMC, Fowler Construction, along with many others.  Fun was had by all!
