together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services, encourage high
ethical standards in all vocations, and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a nonpolitical
and non-sectarian organization open to all people regardless of race, color, creed, religion,
gender, or political preference. There are 34,282 member clubs worldwide, and 1.2 million
Rotarians. Its endowed Foundation is a worldwide leader in the effort to eradicate polio through
its partnership with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and it has been rated 4-stars by Charity
Navigator for over ten years.. The funds raised by the Corpus Christi Evening Rotary Club will
be earmarked for the Polio Plus fund.
Courts appoint CASAs to advocate for the best interest of abused or neglected children in court,
at school and in other settings. For many children in the state welfare system who are abused or
neglected, their committed CASA volunteer will be the one constant presence in their lives.
Communities in Schools facilitates delivery of community social services, health, educational
services and other support to reduce the dropout rate in 13 independent school districts and one
private school in Nueces, San Patricio, Jim Wells, Kleberg, Aransas and Brooks counties.
