Opening the Gates to a Lost Civilization

Pingping Yu grew up in Beijing, China. After a B.A. in English Language and Literature at Peking University, she came to the United States and earned an MBA in Marketing at Michigan State University. She now lives with her husband and two sons in Maple Grove and works full time for General Mills in Global Consumer Insights.

For twelve years Pingping has served as a volunteer speaker and community outreach coordinator for the promotion of the Shen Yun show in Twin Cities area. She will provide an introduction to the New York-based Shen Yun show, along with a discussion of traditional Chinese culture and the challenges it faces in the communist era.
