One of the main objectives of Rotary is international humanitarian work around the world. Rotary has six major areas of service:

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
  • Disease prevention and treatment
  • Water and sanitation
  • Maternal and child health
  • Basic education and literacy
  • Economic and community development

Rotary's international work pairs clubs in at least two countries to develop sustainable projects in any of these critical areas.  Minneapolis University Rotary Club has led the way on projects in Chile, Rwanda, Mexico, India, and other locations around the world. The projects are always initiated by a person with a passion for a place - the 3 Ps of development.

Minneapolis University Rotary Club has a presence on all continents except Antartica. These projects are funded by a combination of donations to the club's foundation, the district, and the Rotary Foundation.

Over almost 20, years, the Minneapolis University Rotary Club has contributed $54,476 to international projects. With contributions from District 5950 and the Rotary Foundation, that has been leveraged into $1,230,343 million. A multiplier of 22.5.
