The Minneapolis University Rotary Service Foundation (MURSF) was established in 1996 to support our club’s service mission. MURSF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and all donations to it are tax-deductible. Club members serve on the foundation board, which meets quarterly.
Our club members generously support MURSF, as do other individuals who contribute to the foundation's work. Many of our service projects receive additional funding from collaborating clubs, Rotary District 5950, and The Rotary Foundation (TRF) of Rotary International. Our club members are encouraged to support both MURSF and TRF at a financial level of their choosing, inspired by the motto “every Rotarian, every year.”
Being part of Rotary International multiplies our local giving many times over and enables our club to carry out service projects that we could not do independently. Together with TRF and Rotary District 5950, our “small and mighty” club has carried out projects at home and on six continents. Our original club foundation funds of approximately $74,410 have been leveraged into over $1.56 million for beneficial projects, as shown below.
