Global Partnerships
 

Our partnership with Haile-Manas Academy (HMA) is our flagship international program. HMA is a a premier private college preparatory boarding school for high achieving, goal oriented Ethiopian students of promise. We work closely with HMA to support their local community. 

In total, we have raised around $5,000 to support projects around Debre Birhan. To do this, we sold handmade tote bags, hosted a large-scale fundraiser, and supported a local ice skating event. Using these funds, the Interact club at HMA has donated school supplies to their local elementary school, purchased sport equipment for their local high school, supported a refugee facility, and investigated how to improve water sanitation and availability for local residents.

 

Rotaractors mentor high school students at Haile-Manas Academy as they perfect their English skills. We also read several students' college essays and help them navigate the American college application process. Finally, we communicate with students once they arrive in the USA to ease their transition and encourage their success as college students.

 

This is an on-going partnership. We are committed to our work with HMA and will remain a steady, sustainable partner for their students.
