Noah recently delivered a thoughtful presentation to the club about his experiences on the Rotary Youth Exchange program in Catania, Italy.
Upon his arrival on September 5th, Noah was warmly welcomed by his host family and Catania city officials. His host family, who had three adult children—two of whom had also participated in international exchange programs—showed him great hospitality. On weekends, they took him on tours to explore various parts of the region.
During his time in Sicily, Noah took up running as a hobby, allowing him to discover many fascinating places along the coastline. As part of his presentation, Pender Rotary members enjoyed a selection of photos showcasing his adventures.
Club members had many questions for Noah, and he shared that his favorite place was Palermo. He also spoke about his love for fishing and boating, as well as the friendships he formed with other exchange students from around the world, which enriched his experience beyond just Italian culture.
Noah also shared some interesting culinary experiences, including dining on authentic Italian pizza, which had a much thinner crust than what we’re used to at home—and was even cut with special scissors
