Pender Harbour Youth Leaders

Three local recipients of Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) were guests at our meeting of October 17, 2008 . . .

Rotary Club of Pender Harbour members Dave Bradley, Eric Graham, and Jan Smalley presented certificates to the three RYLA "graduates":

Dominic Foster, a first-time RYLA recipient
Tony Mudry, who has received the award three times
Katherine Rowlands, who will be a leader at the next RYLA camp

A fourth recipient, Kenneth Cleghorn, was unable to attend the meeting.

The RYLA program provides an opportunity for young people to attend a one-week camp where they learn about leadership and develop their individual potential to be leaders in their communities. RYLA recipients in the southern part of District 5040 gather at Camp Jubilee, in North Vancouver~up Indian Arm, a half hour by boat from Deep Cove.
