Art Auction 2011

This was our 10th Annual Art Auction and we keep getting more efficient at each one. This year Ron and Marita had the assistance of a committee, John King, Glen Bonderud and Jon Paine, thanks to all and a special thanks to Reg who put in many additional hours this year in support of our new system speeding up taking the money at the end.

Lucy Archbold and Sue Paine greeted bidders at the door, had them register and then created a file for each bidder. When an item was sold it was registered in the bidders file along with the price. This allowed for bidders to close out and pay their bill before the end of the night, an issue for many in previous years. A great big thank you to Reg who had to prepare a sheet for each auction item ahead of time to accomodate the new system.

Ron and Marita again worked with a number of artists to have works submitted for the silent auction under commission and to have works donated for the live auction. The committee assisted wherever they could helping with advertising, putting up signs and modifying the bidder and recording process.

Thanks to all the club membersand to the spouses who came out on the Thursday to itemize and tag every piece for the silent auction and again Friday and then Saturday to do all the numerous chores associated with putting on the event.
