Our Exchange Student is Dominik Wiesinger and he is from Austria.
He is 16 years old and will be turning 17 in January.  He speaks fluent English.

Ed Restemayer will be Dominik's councellor.

It is vitally important, especially during his early weeks with us that we make him feel welcome to our Club
and comfortable with our City.  To that end the Student Exchange Committee has assigned two members to each week throughout his stay to be responsible for some activity with Dominik during that week.

Typical things of interest might be taking in a baseball game or hockey game, enjoying a leisurely day at Midhurst park seeing the animals and birds,  Simcoe County Museum, sightseeing trip to Toronto or Niagara Falls, sailing on Kempenfelt Bay,  a weekend at the cottage, skiing, or just a dinner at home or a movie.  I guarantee you will get as much pleasure from the experience as the student.

If it is inconvenient for you to do something on the week you have been assigned, trade with another person for a more convenient time to do the outing you are comfortable with.  All we ask is that you confirm with the host family well in advance your plans and let Bill Evans or the committee know your intentions.  We will remind you 2 weeks ahead and again one week prior to your assigned date and we would like to have feedback so we can address any concerns.

If you have not yet had your police clearance please do it now.  It is important that this is done and be assured that once you are cleared, the police do not retain any information that could be used in any way at a later date.

To print the required form, Google ”Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia”, log in, click on “View Club Documents”, click on “Youth Exchange Documents”, click on appropriate police site ( Barrie, Wasaga, Barrie OPP ) and click on “open”.  Print the form, print your name on the letter and take it to the appropriate station.

When you receive the clearance please pass it on to Wendy Miller for her record.

We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to hearing about your time with Dominik.
