How does time go by so fast? 3 weeks since the last bulletin!
On the 7th social meeting, only 3 golfers showed up on a perfect evening for golf. There was some betting going on and being down 2 with 1 hole to go, a press chalkenge was issued by Hu and he won, saving the $1 that was at stake. 2 more showed up for drinks and 2 others had left earlier when due to snafu, Bunkers had locked the door. A prospect for Rotary came over after the Golf Board meeting.
On the 14th, there 19 in attendance on what turned out to have a Montana Grizzly theme. Justice revolved around trivia questions on the history of the football team and the program featured Nate Harris, assistant coach of the Lady Griz basketball team. Nate played basketball himself at Ronan and MT Tech before coaching a womens' college team in Texas. He jumped at the opportunity to return to MT with his wife and 3 girls. He spoke enthusiastically about the player development goals other than just basketball.
On the 21st, we were moved to the tent at KwaTaqNuk, but is was so nice, we moved out into the open patio. 27 were in attendance. For the second week in a row, the Happy Bucket brought in over $ 70 and this week, Justice revolved around Bobcat football trivia.
Jim Elser (no relation to Smoke-famous mule-packer) spoke about Phosphorus for our program. He is the Director of the Yellow Bay Biological Station among other achievements and recently has written a book on the importance of this unique mineral. He spoke in down-to-earth terms with a table quiz for a copy of his book.
