First in-person meeting in months scheduled for June 16 at KwaTaqNuk Resort.  There may be a "virtual" link set up for those unable to attend.

Polson Rotary Club & Foundation
Board Minutes-May 12, 2020
 
Hu Beaver (presiding), Jim Oates, Marilyn Roberts, Jake Baumann, Dan Barz, Bret Richardson, Megan Beard, Larry Peltz, and Brooke Duty were present-meeting started at 11:15 via ZOOM, a video conference call service.  One member called in by phone.  Also participating was Larry Ashcraft.
 
The April minutes were approved on a motion by Larry, seconded by Dan.
 
There was no treasurer’s report as this month.  Bills are being prepared for the first quarter meals and dues for July to December.
 
Grants Committee-Requests for the Polson Senior Graduation Association have been received totaling $300.  Motion by Dan, seconded by Marilyn and approved.  A crew has volunteered to assist with the Chinese lantern launching.
 
A request from Mission Valley Christian Academy for sports program uniforms, equipment, field paint, etc. was tabled.
 
Scholarship Committee-$ 1,000 awards were made to M McKee, H Smith, G Seeley and A Simshaw. Joe, Megan, Dan, Brody were on the committee.
Signature Project-discussion continued on ways to re-focus the project this year to more of a community celebration event- perhaps combining with the 80th anniversary.
 
Membership Committee-nothing to report
 
Social Committee- No meeting this or last month.
 
Meal Committee-no report.  Tribe is to have a meeting on 5/26 to decide on re-opening.
 
District Assembly and RYLA -Cancelled.  A ZOOM type meeting may be scheduled.
 
2020-2021 program schedules are being developed.

Hu Beaver (presiding), Jim Oates, Marilyn Roberts, Jake Baumann, Dan Barz, Bret Richardson, Joe Blacker, Larry Peltz, Larry Ashcraft, Roxanne Duckworth, David Lewing and Brooke Duty were present-meeting started at 11:15 at Blodgett’s Creamery, an in person meeting. conference call service.
The May minutes were approved on a motion by Larry A, seconded by Larry.
 
The treasurer’s report through May 31 was presented.  Approved on a motion by Larry A, seconded by Joe.as this month.
 
Grants Committee-Requests for the sports program at Mission Valley Christian Academy in the amount of $ 5,336.90 was considered after being tabled last month.  After discussion including using Signature Project Funds, a motion was made by Joe, seconded by Roxanne to fund $ 500 of their request.  Approved by vote.
 
Signature Project-more discussion continued on ways to re-focus the project this year to more of a community celebration event- perhaps combining with the 80th anniversary or the Cherry Festival.  Mostly a wait and see situation pending social distancing restrictions.
 
Membership Committee-nothing to report
 
Social Committee- a meeting next Tuesday. 
 
Meal Committee-no report.  Also, it was decided to have a regular meeting at KwaTaqNuk next week.
 
District Assembly was by a ZOOM meeting. Hu tuned in and made a brief report on happenings.
