Jan 18 - RYLA Program
Sean Hogan of Delta Rotary, told us about the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program. RYLA began in Australia in '72. A Langley Rotary member was exposed to the program and brought it back to Canada. RYLA is an incredible program for the participants and the Rotary members.
This year, the program is being held June 7 to 10th at the ZAJAC RANCH at Stave Lake. Approximately 60 participants are involved including members & Youth Leaders. SEAN gave us a rundown on what happens at the site - used a Power Point presentaion with slides. The experience is one that teaches participants to trust themselves and the other members. They end their time knowing they can depend on themselves to whatever is necessary. They are well on their wat to becoming leaders.
Each club should select two entrants. 1 male & 1 female for this years camp.
