Hike for Hospice Wrapup for 2007

"Hospice by definition means a place of shelter. It became connected to the shelter and care of the dying. The hospice movement is a way to humanise the care of the dying. Hospice care encourages us to put "life into their days, not days into their life".

Much thanks go to Barb Henham and Andrea Hlady for taking time out of their busy schedules to let us know that this years' Hike for Hospice raised a whopping $49,000â?" the largest sum raised in Western Canada and the 4th highest in all of the country with over 94 Hospice's taking part. Let's do even better next year!
Rotary was founded in 1905 by Paul Harris as a business networking and fellowship club working to do good in the community. We can all be proud of our Club's accomplishments in helping out those less fortunate in our community and abroad. This is a very important facet of Rotary but we must not forget that fellowship is equally important.
