"Hospice by definition means a place of shelter. It became connected to the shelter and care of the dying. The hospice movement is a way to humanise the care of the dying. Hospice care encourages us to put "life into their days, not days into their life".

Cathy O'Neil did a fabulous job of putting together the various aspects of this project and having it turn out well. We started early in the morning (about 7:15AM) to put together the Gymn at Hyde Centre for the mornings events. Glen handled the popcorn machine, lovingly poilished it and cleaned it, Gerry and Bob & Ron set up the registration area and with Russ, set up the Rotary Tent. The walk began at 10:00 AM and was over by 11:30. The Mayor was the MC and let us know who the major sponsors were. Various prizes were won by some participants. We had taken down the tent and setup before noon and were on our way for the day. It was a fun day. Thanks again to Cathy, Angela, Gerry, Gaye, Glen & his daughter, Bob, Russ and Ron for a job well done.
