The time to prepare is NOW – before the earthquake strikes.
Once the “Big One” hits, it’s too late.

Jackie Kloosterboer, Emergency Planer and Coordinator of the Public Education program of the City of Vancouver speaking to Rotary members about the emergency kit that every family should have that could save lives.

The members of the Rotary Club of Port Coquitlam Centennial thank Jackie for providing us the insight to go through an emergency, like an earthquake and yet survive the fury of nature, by following simple steps that anyone can follow.

Jackie Kloosterboer facilitates 100+ Emergency Preparedness sessions each year teaching residents and businesses how they can be better prepared for disaster. Jackie has now taken her message one step further with the release of her book “My Earthquake Preparedness Guide – Simple Steps to get You, Your Family and Pets Prepared”. With a team of over 400 Emergency Social Services (ESS) volunteers Jackie responds to an average of 30 activations each year assisting those who have been forced from their homes by emergencies and disasters. In 2013 Jackie received the Queens Jubilee Award for her dedication in helping people get prepared for disasters and for responding to disasters helping those who have been impacted.
