Barrie Seaton, Classification Talk & Leigh Square

Our past President, Barrie Seaton, told us about his upbringing and successes in his early life in England. He was born in Luden, England during this last century. His father was off to war and his early life was difficult at best but adversity does build character. At an early stage, he was fortunate in taking an automotive course, a 5 years apprenticeship, that set his course for a major portion of his life. Barrie loved the automotive business and finished his apprenticeship. Working in several different environments, he learned business and became a partner in a business in due course.  During his early days, he met his wife to be while danicing at the Brighton. On March 8/67, Barrie took Joan out to dinner. They quickly connected and Barrie promptly left for Canada. After becoming the Service advisor of a dealership in Toronto, while living in the "Y", he had Joan over to see the new country. They were married two years later back in England. Barrie stayed in the automotive business until 1995 when he went into Real Estate in BC. He quickly became one of the top salesmen in this area and retains that position today. Barry is on the executive of the Chamber of Commerce as well as being our past President. Barrie's hobbies are "community Service through Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce, Golf, Nascar Racing and RV Camping" The club is very fortunate to have Barrie, the Charter President of our club, with us.
