Mini-Club Presentations
At our March 21st meeting, the club's "Mini-Clubs" were asked to present their deliberations and conclusions for the club's consideration. President Paul had set up these mini-clubs last fall to give greater voice to members through independant meetings. The club idea is a great success: Some reports from spokesmen were:
Ryan's group (Ryan, Gaye, Bob & Unice) - Suggested a fund raiser for the club. We are able to obtain Books of Cineplex movie tickets for resale to members. The potential profit is significant. Most club members agreed with the project. Ryan McAdam reported for his group as follows:
President Cheryl;
Here are some stats and facts about our mini-club's Cineplex ticket initiative.
We have purchased 375 tickets as they are only available in packs of 25.
The tickets are good until April 2010 at any Cineplex / Famous Player theatre in
We will sell these tickets for $10.00 each ... we are selling most tickets in packs of 25 - but have had some members request 10 tickets. At present we have 255 tickets committed [9 members have agreed to purchase 25 each and 3 members have agreed to 10 each] ... so we have 120 tickets left available.
When we sell all 375 tickets, the club will realize a good profit..
Thanks to Bob, Eunice & Gaye for their help & support with our mini-club idea. Thank you,
Russ reported for the next team consisting of Russ, Gale, Anthony and Cheryl. Their team looked at the administrative operation of the club - what's good, what could be better. Where are we now? A young club - successful - dealing with administrative issues - communication - A need to grow - Membership. We have excellent members - Dedicated - We need more - We are well positioned to grow. Workloads need to be smoothed out. To few are doing too much. All members need to be involved.
Where do we want to be? About double the size we are now. To be able to have sufficient members. - To accomplish the work we would like to do - To have the funds we need to do our work - To allow greater help and support for needy people & organizations. To be able to successfully promote Rotary & our club to the public in order to obtain greater public support & membership to accomplish our goals (yet to be defined). We need to be seen as the philathropic organization we are. As an organization people would be proud to be a part of. How to get there is the plan.
Glorias's mini-club reported as follows:
...our mini club thoughts and ideas ....
-
We felt that we needed to get to know individual members better - both personally and professionally = to help us understand/respect each others' time and commitment and passions for Rotary.
-
Setting, touching, and feeling goals/successes.
-
We all agree communication is a key part in any successful organization.
