HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!
January Happenings
Jan.8 - Our first meeting of the new year. Fire Chief Steve Gamble visited with us and told us about the Port Coquitlam Fire Department and it's plans for the year. The department is staffed to handle the emergancies that are common the Port Coquitlam. 90% of emergancies are medical or Motor Vehicle accident related. Chief Gamble's talk was greatly appreciated by all.
Jan. 15th - our meeting - with all committees reporting to the members of their progress or lack thereof. We understand that Barrie & Joan Seaton will be leaving to go to the Port Moody club for early morning meetings. Barrie is the President of the Tricity Chamber of Commerce this year and has a busy schedule. He shall be missed. Meetings have begun for the May Day Parade committees to put together the details necessary to run the May Day celebrations. We have two committees, Carol Metz Murray heads one dealing with the Festival Task Force (Administaration). Gerry Scallion is heading the committee dealing with the May Day Parade om May 9th, 2009. President Cheryl and VP Russ are also involved in the committees as needed.
Angela brought the club up to date on the sales of Blueberries and the possible profit to be realized. Itès possible that Ryan McAdams will be leaving due to his move to the Fraser Valley with his job for the NEWS.
A survey for members is being prepared to allow full communication from the members to the board. It should be ready later this month.
The results of tonights Board Meeting should be available for members on the website soon. Go to ADMIN, click on VIEW Club Documents.
